May swap cards - flowers

Here are my May swap cards with a floral theme for my CHF yahoo group. All flower images were stamped with Cornish Heritage Farms stamps created by Marieke. The sayings all came from Michael's clear dollar stamp sets. The frames were made with my Sizzix machine. I highlighted the images with a stardust gel pen.

Here's the card I made for my nephew's 15th birthday. Since his birthday is close to Memorial Day, I figured I would make him a patriotic card this year. I stamped the large red star with pigment ink and then over stamped the blue stars onto it. I then clear embossed the whole image. I trimmed it closely. The next size navy stars have the red star with an H and a B in them for "happy birthday". The red ink in them is clear embossed. The smallest red stars are stamped with pigment ink and clear embossed. The large red stamp is from Stamping Sensations. The little blue stars background on the red star is from The Angel Company. The navy star and smaller red stars are from Stampin' Up.

Second card for May Background swap

This card is the same basic design of the first one with a couple of exceptions. First, I did not mount the screw strips on red cardstock. Secondly, I placed a strip of ribbed sticky velvet-like ribbon down the middle. It kind of has the feel of the old car floor mats. It is more a textural card than the previous one. The stamps are still the same. Please read first post in this series for stamp references.

Background Swap card for May 2007

Here is one of the cards I made for my CHF swap this month. We had to use a background stamp. I chose a masculine one because I know I am always in need of ideas for cards for men. I used the diamond plate backgrounder from Cornish Heritage Farms. I embossed silver on silver cardstock. The only problem I encountered is if you rub too hard on the design some of the silver embossing comes off which is due to the fact that the card is glossy. The screws are from Technique Tuesday and the "You Rock" is from SeeD's.
