June Masculine swap for CHF

Yippee! I got my other June swap done for CHF. This one had to have a masculine theme. I kind of stretched the swap here because I actually did not use any stamps on the card. However, I thought it was such a clever card I went ahead and used the design anyway. I saw the idea from the June/July 2007 issue of Paper Crafts on page 71, if you want to reference it. I altered my cards to fit in a standard A2 size envelope. I used a standard A2 size white card and used my centering ruler to find the center of the fold (make it top-folded). I then marked off 3 3/4 inches for the top, making sure that it was centered. I then cut from the ends of my top measurements to the bottom corners at an angle. I then V notched the crotch part of the card in center. I then traced the card on the back side of my surfboard paper and cut out. I attached the surfboard paper to the front of the card with double sided tape. Next I cut a 3/4 inch by 3 3/4 inch piece of lime green paper. I cut this evenly in half. I placed white eyelets in the green pieces. I then thread white yarn through each eyelet and THEN attached them to the top of the card with a space in between them of about 3/8 of an inch. The ends should hang off the sides of the card which can be trimmed off after attaching the strips. Tie the white yarn into a knot and then knot off the ends and trim. And there you have your jazzy swim trunk card! I also stamped the saying "life is a beach" onto the envelope. You can print or stamp whatever saying you want for the inside of the card. I would probably put something like "Dive in!" or "Jump in!" along with Happy Birthday. Those would go with my saying on the envelope. Now off they go to the mail box!

I am in a swap for June that had to contain ribbon. I have to admit I struggled a bit on this one. I finally decided to find ribbon I wanted to use and then add stamps. Blue and yellow seemed appropriate for daisies so the color scheme, ribbon and stamps were set. I used Cornish Heritage Farms stamps for this card. First, I stamped the victorian sunflower backgrounder stamp with yoyo yellow SU ink on a yellow card. Next, I stamped the same stamp with bliss blue on blue cardstock. I trimmed a piece of the blue stamped cardstock to fit at the bottom 1/3 of the yellow card. I also trimmed a 1/2 inch piece of the blue stamped cardstock to fit across the top of the yellow card about 1/3 inch from the top of the card. Now I punched a blue scalloped oval circle from the blue cardstock and I smaller plain oval from white cardstock. I stamped the large daisy detail with versa mark onto the white oval. I used a finger dauber to put yoyo yellow chalk onto the versa mark daisies. I then mounted the white oval to the blue scalloped oval and used double sided tape to attach the oval image to the card as shown. I then cut two pieces of rickrack (one blue and one yellow) and attach them in the middle of the card to cover the seam where the blue and yellow pieces meet. I used a yellow prima flower with a yellow brad in the middle of it for the bottom right corner. I attached it with a glue dot. And there you have it. I got it done just in the nick of time for June, too!

Whew! I got my Father's Day cards done today. Lucky for me my in-laws are here visiting for the weekend from TN so I didn't have to get his in the mail early. For the "classic" card I used a stamp from Stamps Happen. I stamped it with Black Versafine ink and then used colored pencils and Turpenoid to add color. For the words on top I used an alphabet set from See-D's stamps. For the real hot rod card, I used a picture of my husband's race car and handprinted the words onto the car. The happy father's day stamp is from savvy stamps. I used Staz-On for that. I then added some brackets made with my Sizzix machine. Just in case you can't read what I wrote on the car, it says "Sisk-e Business Inc.". Our last name is Sisk and wanted something catchy for a name for the car. Corny, I know.

This the graduation card I made for a cousin. I used the invitation he sent to compose the card. The Mark Twain quote and greeting were typed on Word and printed. I cut all pieces from invitation and matted. I used his school colors to bring the whole card together.

This year I made gift card tags for my daughter's teachers, paraprofessionals and bus driver. I started by making the scallop/regular jumbo tags out of two-sided paper, using my Sizzix machine. I then cut a second tag with my Sizzix, but I cut the tops off these. I stamped the girl (Me and My Big Ideas by Inkadinkado) with black dye ink on the short piece. I then colored her with colored pencils and blended with Turpenoid. I stamped the thank you (Savvy stamps) and hand wrote the rest. On the back of the large tag I stamped the tired lady (Art Impressions) with black dye ink. I also colored her in colored pencils and blended with Turpenoid. I added a personal message next to the stamped image. I then used double side sticky tape to adhere the cutoff piece on top of the full tag to create a pocket. Be sure to leave the top section untaped! Lastly, I added ribbon to the hole in the tag. A gift card fits perfectly in thse pocket tags. I have also included some of the other tags I made. I made each tag slightly different by using different two-sided papers, stamps, colored pencils and ribbons. The school symbols stamps were from Close to My Heart. The larger "Thanks" is from Wordsworth stamps.
