Happy Birthday, Tom!

Here is the card I just made for my husband's birthday which is this Thursday, Oct. 18. He has two hot rods so it was only fitting that I make him a card with a car on it. I struggled a little bit with what to do with the car until I decided to use the road die I have for my Sizzix machine. I stamped the car(Sticky Scrap) onto white cardstock and painted it with Twinkling H20's. Next, I cut it out. I then die cut the road with my Sizzix machine and used a white pencil to color the white lines on the road. I mounted the road onto the middle of my yellow card. Next I used Stampin' Up dimensionals to attach the car to the road. I love those for popping images up. I then stamped "Another year"(The Angel Company) and "older"(Stampendous Clear tiny alphabet) and cut out around the words. I then matted them on gray cardstock and trimmed. I attached them with double-sided tape. I then used my Stampin' Around wheel by Stampin' Up to roll the tire marks onto white cardstock with black ink. I trimmed them down and added a brad. I attached them to the card with double-sided tape. I then made up the saying for the inside and typed it in Word and printed. I matted it on black and attached with double-sided tape. And there you have it - another b-day card by moi!

Birthday card for Mike

My brother-in-law, Mike, had his birthday on Oct. 14. Here is the card I made for him. I have been too busy to upload it before now. He is a fireman for Metro Nashville in TN. I wanted to use some of my new dies for my Sizzix. I kind of gave it the "Andy Warhol" look. All I did was diecut the squares, firetrucks(Cuttlebug), and happy birthday. I did two of each color and adhered with double-sided tape. The happy birthday was mounted one on top of the other using the great new glue pen. I love that little glue pen! A nice card that was quick and easy! I am all about that these days with 2 jobs.

Father-in-law's Birthday

My father-in-law's birthday is coming up so I wanted to make him a nice autumn-type card. The collage set is from Stampin' Up and the "Happy Birthday" is from Serendipity Stamps. I stamped the collage with Graphite Black Brilliance ink and embossed with black powder. I painted the images with Twinkling H2Os. I matted the collage with green and attached to the sand-paper distressed card with two-sided tape. Next, I die-cut the oval frame using my Sizzix machine in both green and yellow. I stamped the words with same ink as the collage and heat embossed with black embossing powder. I put bronze brads in the holes of the frame and attached to the card with mini dots. I mounted the words flat to the card in the center of the frame. For the finishing touch, I added a sheer bronze ribbon tied in a knot at the fold of the card. Now I just have to get it in the mail!
