Any Shape but a Rectangle or Square Card

My Inner Martha is having a card challenge this weekend. She is asking for cards in shapes other than square or rectangular. I decided to put my new scallop circle Nestabilities to work. I love these dies! I definitely wanted to go with a Spring theme since I am so ready for some nicer weather here in MI. I used my Sizzix flower die for the glitter flowers. The only stamp I used was the "think spring" stamp from TAC. I played with the idea of adding something else to it, but decided that less is more when it comes to glittery cards. A nice quick and easy Spring card!

I'm on a Roll!

Are you ready for one more card for the simple challenge? I am definitely on a roll with this challenge. I can get so many more cards done using a simple scheme. For this card I stamped the sun (TAC) and the verse (www.Angi-b-co.com) with Versamark. I then embossed both with black fine embossing powder. I colored the sun using stardust gelly roll pens. I again poked holes using a template from Timeless Touches. That's it. Another nice and easy card.

Another one for the simple card challenge

I really like this challenge. I love being able to make a card quickly without having to rack my brain for an hour figuring out what I want to do. I used my retired SU set Roses in Winter for the stamps on this card. I then used a template to poke holes on the other side. I cut a slit in the fold and added the ribbon. That's it. I love simple!

Simple sketch challenge

Here is a sample I made for a sketch challenge. The challenge was to use one layer with a stamped image in one corner and a greeting elsewhere. I used stamps from TAC. I used my Scor-Pal to create the frame and added holes on the 3 plain corners of the frame. The images were stamped with Night of Navy ink(SU) and then highlighted with a stardust royal sparkle gelly roll pen. That's it. Nice and easy!

Congrats to my nephew and his future bride!

I just finished this card for my nephew's fiance. Whew! I was working on it before dinner and then had to take a break to eat. I then had to watch American Idol. I THEN had to watch the 10 o'clock news. So finally I got to work on it. The bridal shower is coming up on March 15 so I wanted to get it done and in the mail. Since they live in TN. I won't be able to make it to the shower or wedding. I feel bad, but that is the way it is when you live far from family. With our jobs and kids' activities we just can't attend much during the school year. I hope that the shower goes well and that they have a great turnout. I also hope the weather is better there than it is here in MI. I am so tired of snow and cold. Enough already!!!
P.S.
Supplies for card:
DP: EK Success
Stamps: couple, Hollywood, and heart- Clearly Wordsworth; Frame- Stampabilities;
Other supplies: colored pencil; turpenoid; Clear Stardust gelly roll pen; Paper Glaze; black ribbon;

Bombshell birthday

When I saw this stamp set by Stamping Sensations I knew I had to have it! I love the Marilyn Monroe look. I was waiting for the right time to christen it. Well, my sister's birthday is March 10 and we always send each other funny birthday cards. I sure hope she sees the humor in this one and is not offended. I think it is hilarious. I wouldn't be offended if I got it in the mail. All of the stamps used are from Stamping Sensations. I embossed Marilyn with fine detail black embossing powder. I stamped all the saying with black Versafine ink. The DP is from Colorbok. It is from a scrapbook kit with a fashion theme. The tag is from the kit also. I used some bling on the corner of Marilyn's square.
PS
Have a great birthday, Cindy!

Have a "beary" happy birthday!

My friend, Kay, has a birthday coming up on March 9. We have been friends since we were 10 years old. She still lives in my home state of Tennessee. When I go home to visit family I always try to see her, too. She loves bears so I HAD to make her a bear birthday card. I made the card and thought I was done with it. It was the one on the bottom. BUT something just didn't look right. There was too much space on the bottom. It needed something else. I decided to punch some hearts out with my Sizzix machine. I think that made a big difference. What do you think? The bear and saying stamp are both from The Angel Company. The DP is from DCWV Summer matstack from 2007. I cut the circles with my Creative Memories cutting system. I colored the bear with colored pencils and Turpenoid. I hope she likes it.
PS
If you see this, Kay, have a great birthday!!!

Mamaw's Birthday

Today is my Mom's birthday. I made her this pocket card. There was not a lot of stamping involved, but I still like the card. The front greeting is from Anna Griffin and the message on the insert is also from Anna Griffin. I only scanned the front since there was a personal message on the pullout. I used my Sizzix to punch out the label and the tab. I talked to her on the phone and they were having some severe weather down there in Alabama. I hope they get through it okay. Meanwhile, we are putting up with snow again here in Michigan. UGH!
