Quick Recovery card for my sister

My sister was in a terrible car accident right after Christmas and was in the hospital for a week. She broke her femur and ankle on her right leg. She also broke her jaw and lost 10 teeth! She could have died. It was a very serious operation to repair her leg, ankle and jaw. She had to have her jaw wired shut. Poor thing. She has done amazingly well considering the extent of her injuries. I decided to make her a card and send her a little gift to cheer her up. I sure hope she likes it. Hurry up and heal, girl!

Stamp Club cards for February

Here are the cards that we made this month at my Stampin' Up card club. It is so much fun to be part of a regular group. We take turns hosting it and it works out great. I was lucky enough to be hostess this month during Sale-a-bration. Yippee! I will get two of the SAB sets, plus a hostess set and another free set that I picked from the catalog. I also loaded up on some inks that I was missing and cardstock. I am getting storage boxes for my jumbo wheels also. Hope you all had a great weekend. Stay warm.

RAK from JT's Monthly Aloha RAK Club

This month I took the plunge and decided to join "JT's Monthly Aloha RAK Club". This is a fun club where you sign up to RAK someone else with a card and anything else that you want. I received this cute card from AKA Josh's mommy on splitcoast stampers. She lives in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Thanks for the card!

DH's Valentine Card

I have a goal to do a little more chatting on my blog since that seems the more popular way of doing it. My family and I went to visit U of M in Ann Arbor today. My daughter is a junior and is starting the tedious task of visiting campuses. It is a great campus and in-state tuition is looking pretty good to us(parents). She was not totally convinced and wants to visit some out-of-state schools. Oh, Boy! Let the fun begin!

As for today's card, this is the Valentine that I made for my DH. I used a Blush card kit by Basic Grey. It didn't scan too well because the heart is chipboard and a little thick for my scanner. I really liked the kit so I made cards for my 2 DD also. I have no scan of those since they took them off to their oblivions(bedrooms). I used only items in the kit. Hope you enjoyed your Valentine's Day.

"Just So Hippy" Dress

Well here is my second entry for the "Just So Hippy" blog contest. I love this stamp set. It is just so cute. It is from Gina K. I stamped our little hippo twice, once on white cardstock and once on patterned paper. I cut out only the body part on the patterned paper to resemble a dress. I attached the dress to the white hippo. I then colored her in with my colored pencils and Turpenoid. I then matted her on two different size Scallop Ovals cut with my Nestabilities in my Wizard die cut tool. I mounted the hippo to the yellow scallop oval and then mounted that to the larger pink scallop oval. I added some white dots to the pink oval with a white gel pen. Next I attached the oval to the card on the upper left side. I then added a strip of matching patterned paper across the bottom of the card. I glued a piece of velvet yellow rickrack over the seam. Lastly, I printed the saying on my Word program in brown and cut into strips. I mounted the strips to matching yellow cardstock. I attached the word strips at various angles to the right side of the card. And, voila, you have it! I "hippy" little card. Enjoy!

Going Bananas

Here is my first entry sponsored by "Hands, Head and Heart" blog. I had to use a stamp from the "Just So Hippy" set released by Gina K last month. I stamped the little guy with sepia versafine. I then colored him in with colored pencils and Turpenoid(Gamsol). Then I stamped the banana from SeeD's with the same ink and cut it out. I also colored it with colored pencils and Turpenoid. I used an Xacto knife to trim around his hand so that he could "hold" the banana. I then stamped the saying which is also from SeeD's and added the Valentine sticker below it. Both white pieces were edged with pink ink. All were cut and matted twice with the pink and brown mats. I added a strip of brown cardstock under the two matted pieces. I then added a strip of ribbon across the bottom and taped it under the patterned paper. I attached the whole front piece to a brown card. And that is it.
