Katie's Graduation card

I really enjoyed making this grad. card for my cousin's daughter, Katie. I took her invitation that she sent me and I cut it up into individual pieces. I then started piecing it together. On the front I used a piece of DP from The High School Stack (DCWV). I love this paper. I inked all the edges with green ink. I mounted the cut out "Class of 08" on a piece of silver mirror cardstock and then cut it out. I then mounted it to the top of the card with SU dimensionals. I then took the quote cut from the invite and mounted it on black cardstock and trimmed again. I mounted this below the 08 piece. I then took wide satin silver ribbon and stitched it into a flower shape. I embossed a white biggie brad with hunter green EP. I added the silver 08 from off the invite. I stuck the brad through the middle of the flower and mounted to the card to the left of the quote. For the inside, I die cut a graduation cap(Sizzix) and edged it with silver ink and put a silver brad where tassel connects. I took the sketch of the high school and edged it with green ink and mounted to the top portion in the card. I then mounted the grad. cap to the upper left corner. I then added the green metallic strip of 2008 from the invite below the sketch. For the main body of the inside card, I cut and mounted the name of the school and the quote on black cardstock. I then attached them to the card as shown. I then attached the mascot to a green tag edged with silver and added silver cording to the hole. I attached it to the card with SU dimensionals. I stamped "congratulations" with black on green cardstock and edged it with silver. I attached that under the quote. I then die cut 2 "k" s with my Sizzix. I shadow mounted them to the bottom left corner. And that is it. I hope she has a great graduation next week. Wish we could be there for her in Tennessee where it is WARM!!! LOL Best wishes to you, Katie.

Card Night May 2008

I love card night! We had about 11 ladies at my house this month for our card night. Our fearless leader, Lorna, is always coming up with great cards for us to make. She is a Stampin' Up demonstrator and we love her! She also has a day job (LOL) as a teacher. A couple of months ago her school was burned down by an arsonist. She lost everything! She even had some of her Stampin' Up stamps there :( . Stampin' Up generously donated some materials to help replace what she lost. Her students loved to be creative and I believe it is because she is so creative herself. It rubs off on her students. I have scans of some of the cards we made this time. We had a good time. Most of the stamps are from Stampin' Up with the exception of the year 2008 on the grad card. It is from The Paper Studio "Clear Stamps". The font is called "Sophie caps - alphas". The sympathy card has piercing on the corners. I really like the piercing. It is easy and adds a lot to the card. I also like the possum card even though it had a lot of coloring. Thanks for looking and I hope you have a great rest of the weekend.

My Paper World's sketch #9 contest: Amanda's graduation 2008

Hi. I just made this card today for my niece, Amanda. She is graduating from High School in a couple of weeks in TN. I wanted to make her a card using her school colors which are maroon and grey. I used CHF stamps for this card. The owl, branch, grad cap, and saying are all from the set called "U R A Hoot". I love this set. It is so cute. It has tons of greetings and accessories to go with the owls. The bottom rectangle is also a CHF stamp. It is their paisley backgrounder. I stamped it with burgundy ink on grey DP. The branch was stamped on the base white square. The owl was stamped on grey cardstock and cut out. The grad cap was stamped with Versamark and embossed with black ep. I cut it out and mounted it to the owl with dimensionals. The upper DP is from Club Scrap. The silver grad caps were punched out of silver cardstock. Inside the card I used the greeting also from the owl set. It says "Hoot and hollar, You're a scholar!" CUTE!

Hero Arts "Pink" challenge

Hello again. Hero Arts has a challenge up on their blog right now. They are asking us to make "pink" cards for cancer patients. The cards don't have to be totally pink like mine, but have to have an appropriate greeting on it for cancer patients to receive or give. I used all Hero Arts stamps on mine. I stamped the butterflies on vellum and cut them out. I then sprinkled pale pink glitter on them after coating them with a glue pen. I also added some darker pink glitter to the center greeting. I hope that someone will get some cheer from my card.

Dylan's birthday May 2008

Good afternoon everyone. I am really working hard to get all my posts updated. This is the birthday card I made for my nephew, Dylan. He turned 6 this week. I used the people building set from Stampin' Up to make the boy and gifts. I colored them with markers. I used my Nestabilities circle dies to make the circle mats. I then cut the rectangles from DP and cardstock. The greeting is from TAC. I made this a double duty card, meaning it is also an entry in a contest. The alligator is the gift card from Target that I attached inside the card. I just used stickers for the inside greeting. That is about it for this card.

Happy late Easter! LOL I am so late posting these cards. I made these cards for my daughters. I am so bad about remembering all the details so I won't go there. Hope you had a blessed Easter even if I am late.

Lots of Dots

Hello. I hope everyone is having a great day. This is an entry I made for a contest calling for dots. I did a lavendar monotone theme. I started by putting a piece of stencil tape across the middle of the card as a mask. I then stamped a variety of dots in lavendar ink. The large dot is from Stampin' Up and all the rest on the bottom half are from Hero Arts. Next, I moved the stencil tape down a bit so I could stamp the top half of the card. I used my CHF dots backgrounder to stamp it. I didn't have any cardstock to match my ink so I just cut a piece of white cardstock into a strip and inked it with the same ink that I used for all my dots. I then layered a sheer lavendar ribbon over it. I then stamped the sentiment circle(SU) and punched it out. Next, I stamped a dotted circle (SU) and punched it out. Lastly, I punched out one more circle from a small scrap of cardstock. I matted all the circles together and attached to the card as shown.

Howdy everyone. I am catching up on my posting today. It is raining out and I don't feel like going to exercise. I am being so bad today. This card is one that I made for a Cornish Heritage Farms(CHF) backgrounder challenge back in April. I used the CHF trees backgrounder and the CHF "U R A Hoot" set. I used DP for the cloud background. I paper pieced the owl. The sentiment was created on my Word program and then printed in green and punched out. I inked the edges of the sentiment with mustard ink. That's it. Thanks for looking.

Stampin' Up card night April 2008

I have been so bad lately. I know I haven't posted since April. Here are the 4 cards that we made at our Stampin' Up card night in April. I won't bother you with the details of the cards for time sake.
