Happy First Birthday card for Just Add Ink Challenge #323 and Happy Little Stampers August Anything Goes with Dies Challenge

Hello,
Today I finally got motivated to make my great-nephew a card for his first birthday.  I wish we didn't live so far away.  We always miss all the fun birthday parties!  Anyway, I got some inspiration from a couple of card challenges.  The #justaddinkchallenge323 is to "just add F".  Your challenge is to add something to your card that begins with the letter "F".  It can be an item such as a flamingo or flag, but it could also be a technique such as faux stitching.  I am making mine a "first" birthday card.  The other challenge is the #HLSAugustanythinggoeswithdieschallenge.  This challenge is a bit more obvious.  I used LOTS of dies on this card.  YAY!  Here are the links to the two challenges:http://just-add-ink.blogspot.com/2016/08/just-add-ink-323-just-add-f.html?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+blogspot%2FkHRyA+%28Just+Add+Ink%29  and  http://www.happylittlestampers.com/2016/08/hls-august-anything-goes-with-dies.html?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+HappyLittleStampers+%28Happy+Little+Stampers%29

To make the card I used the Scallop Oval Flip-its die from Sizzix.  I actually went through some of older paper stash and found this collection called "Let's Roll" by Imaginisce.  It had the perfect images of vehicles for a little boy card.  I then dug through my scraps and found enough papers to match.  Yay, again!  The yellow and white ovals are actually cut from a Spellbinders set.  I die cut the "happy birthday"(Little B) and the 1st(Paper Smooches) from the scraps.  I glued the 'happy birthday" directly to the yellow, but popped the "1" up with pop dots.  The "st" is also glued directly to the yellow oval.  It needed a little something more so I die cut the candle (Sizzix) from red and orange paper.  I cut just the flame from the orange and glued it on top of the whole red piece.  I then glued it to the oval.  I added some yellow stardust gel pen to it for a little sparkle.  I then glued the whole yellow piece to the card.
For the flip side of the card, I took the white oval piece and die cut a "m" (Paper Smooches) and a "3" (Sizzix Monkey Tails Sizzlets).  My great-nephew is called "M3" because he is Michael III.  I glued these pieces at the top.  I then stamped the saying using stamps from Penny Black clear set called "Word Express".  I added the punched heart(stash) at the bottom.  And there you have it!  I hope M3 has a great birthday!  Thanks for stopping by.

Janet
