Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge Blog: Sketch 91

Howdy all,
Today I needed to make my nephew a birthday card QUICK!  I have to get it in the mail tomorrow if I want him to get it on time.  I always keep blog challenges handy so that I can use them for a jumping off point in creating cards, especially when I need something in a hurry.  Today I decided to use the sketch challenge from Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge blog.  I am using the current sketch #91.  Here is the link:  http://atlanticheartschallenge.blogspot.com/2015/01/sketch-91.html?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+AtlanticHeartsSketchChallenge+%28Atlantic+Hearts+Sketch+Challenge+%29

Here is my take on the sketch.  I kept it pretty literal for time's sake.
I also wanted to use the current stamp of the month from CTMH which is "This Moment".  The real challenge was to try and make a masculine card out of a mainly Valentine themed stamp set.  I think I did okay with it.  The "happy birthday" stamp is from the CTMH stamp set called "Holiday Tags Occasions".  I also wanted to use the new paper pack from CTMH called "Heartstrings" which is also very Valentine's Day themed.  I think it turned out masculine enough.  I used the matching CTMH inks in slate, lagoon and cranberry.   I distressed all the edges with a brown ink, too.  Thanks for stopping by.

Love this! I'm forwarding the link to my CTMH consultant so she can case it for one of our classes! TFS

I love your use of the arrow...I struggle with masculine cards.

I love the use of the arrows down the side, what a unique take on the sketch. I would have never thought of Heartstrings as a go to for a masculine card but you did amazing with it, I have to rethink my Heartstrings from here on out. Thanks for playing along with AHSC!
