Graduation Card 2016: #tgifc55

I love this sketch!  I immediately thought of an idea for a graduation card using this one.  I got my Cricut out and cut the frame and insert pieces using the Art Philosophy cartridge from CTMH.  I used black cardstock for the frame (CTMH) and then used white underneath for the layer to stamp on.  I also cut the same frame out of chevron paper from the Paper Fundamentals - Basic Assortment paper pack from CTMH(Z1939).  I then started assembling the main piece before attaching it to the card.  I took a pencil and made light outlines of the two squares where I stamped the year(Stampendous Tiny Alphabet stamp set #SSC222) over and over.  It was just a the bottom of the frame with no frame attached yet - just the bottom square of white cardstock.  I stamped the year first in Holiday Red (CTMH retired) in the middle of both squares.  I then stamped all around it with black ink (CTMH).  I then attached the frame piece covering the stamping that went over the edges. Then I adhered the two chevron pieces into the other two spaces. Next, I cut the banner with my Cricut using the Artistry cartridge from CTMH.  I stamped the word "Graduate" on the left side of the banner.  It's from the CTMH stamp set called "Smarty Pants" C1649 in current mini catalog.  I then stamped the graduation cap in black (from the same "Smarty Pants" set) on a scratch piece of white cardstock and fussy cut it out.  I then attached it to the right side of the banner.  I mounted the whole piece with pop dots to the main white card.  And there you have it.  Nice and quick.  Gotta love CAS card styles!  Thanks for stopping by.
