Celebrate Card for AAA Cards Game #72 and Between The Fold Challenge 29A

Happy Saturday Night Ya'll!
It was a rainy afternoon so I actually found some time to stamp.  I knew that I wanted to challenge myself with a challenge and I picked a couple to try out.  First, I wanted to try a new technique for the AAA Cards Game #72 which is to try a "new to you" technique.  I haven't done watercolor resist so I thought I'd give it a try.  You have to zoom in on the cards to see the details.  I took pictures from 2 angles so you can see the shimmer.  I also used the Between the Fold Challenge #29A which is to do random stamping.  I did that with the leaves stamps.  Here are the links to the 2 challenges:  http://aaacards.blogspot.com/2016/08/game-72-new-to-you-technique.html?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+blogspot%2FScRsM+%28AAA+Cards%29

To make the card, I started with my watercolor paper.  I randomly stamped different leaves from the CTMH stamp set "Lovely Leaves" with VersaMark.  Next, I embossed them with clear embossing powder.  Then I took a wide brush and painted water over the whole paper to prime it for the paint.  I used CTMH watercolor paints to abstractly paint the leaves.  After the leaves were dry I then wet the background again with water and painted the background blue.  When the whole panel was dry I spritzed it with Perfect Pearls Mist in Perfect Pearl to give it a nice shimmer.  I wasn't satisfied yet so I also added some more shimmer with Tattered Angels Gold Glimmer Mist.  The combination gave the card a nice shimmer.  Next, I stamped the greeting "Celebrate" from the CTMH "Dizzy Circles" stamp set with VersaMark.  I then embossed it with gold embossing powder.  To finish the card I wrapped some twine around the watercolor paper 3 times and knotted it.  I also cut 3 graduated sized panels of cardstock from the Fundamentals Adventure Cardstock paper pack.  These papers are nicely embossed with clear embossing to add some detail to the papers.  The watercolor panel is popped up with pop dots while the other layers are flat.  And that's it.  Thanks so much for stopping by.
