Hello again! Stamplorations Anything Goes Challenge

Hey y'all!  I know it's been a LONG time, but I have excuses.  We made another major move to another state and then COVID hit.  I am finally feeling more settled and have time to post.  

The Stamplorations Anything Goes Challenge is found HERE. : 

I used the Stamplorations "Framed Dogwood" stamp to make these Easter cards.  I stamped them with Versamark ink on watercolor paper and then heat embossed them with black embossing powder.  I used CTMH watercolors to paint the images.  I then mounted the images to a rectangle die cut (CTMH)from cardstock in cardstock that matches each image.  I then die cut a frame from samed die set (CTMH) to frame the image.  I popped the black frame up with dimensional foam adhesive.  The "happy easter" greeting (CTMH) is stamped with black ink (CTMH) and popped up like the frame and the image.  And that is it.  I loved all the color combinations that are possible with this stamp.

The Paper Players: PP452 Sketch Challenge (Pet Sympathy Card)

Hey y'all!

Today I am back with another card based on a sketch challenge.  My daughter's caregiver lost her dog who was 17 years old this week.  She had him since she was 8 years old so they grew up together.  I wanted to make her a card so I found a sketch that would work with the stamps and dies that I knew I wanted to use for the card.  I chose the sketch for The Paper Players Challenge blog.  It is challenge #452 and you can find it HERE.  

I hope she finds some solace in this card.  I used a picture of her dog on FB to color the doggy image.  I used Copics to achieve that look.  I also the Rainbow Bridge stamps and dies from CTMH plus the papers are from the current Mix-in paper packet also from CTMH.  The little greeting is from the new Simon Says Stamp printed greetings that you can just cut out or die cut.  I just fussy cut mine.  And there you have it.

SOSS #138 "B is for the Birds and the Bees" and Freshly Made Sketches #394

It has been awhile, but I am still around.  I haven't had much time to do challenges lately, but these I had to make time for.  I love the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers challenges and decided that I needed to join in this time.  HERE is the link to their challenge blog.  

                                                                                                                                                      I knew what stamps I wanted to use so I just needed to find a sketch that would work with them.  I chose the sketch for the current "Freshly Made Sketches #394" since it was pretty simple and I didn't want a lot of detail to take away from the main idea.  HERE is the link to the sketch.

As I stated earlier I kept my design simple since I wanted it to be all about the image and the saying.  I just stamped the image of the pregnant lady (Taylored Expressions - Jenn) with black Momento ink.  I then colored her with Copic markers.  I fussy cut her out and popped her up with pop dots.  I added some CTMH mini sparkles to her earrings for a little touch of bling.  The paper I used is from the CTMH "Sweet Girl" collection.  I found the saying in the Taylored Expressions "The Inside Scoop - Belated Birthday" set, but I thought it worked perfectly for a snarky take on the Birds and the Bees.  And there you have it.

2019 Spring/Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop - Coffee Pot Head Card

Hey Y'all,

I found some time today to make a "coffee" themed card for the 2019 Spring/Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop. You can find out more about the hop HERE.
I instantly (no pun intended!) thought of my stamp set from Jillian Vance Designs (Simply Said Pot Head set) that is hilarious.  I love this set because it is so funny.  I found some old Prima paper(the Pulse collection 6x6) that I thought would work well with the "Pot Head" stamp.  The paper has grafitti on it for a grunge look.  I kept it simple because the stamps speak for themselves.  I stamped the image and words with Versafine onyx black ink.  I fussy cut the pot after using a Kingart Dual Tip brush marker in dark brown to color in the coffee.  I then used my CTMH watercolor in pale blue to watercolor the glass part of the pot so that it blended with the patterned paper behind it.  I popped the pot up with pop dots.  I matted both the large paper and the smaller one with black cardstock (CTMH) so that the pieces would stand out more.  And that's it!

SOSS #126: B is for Books Take 2

Happy New Year to my peeps!

It's a new year so it's time for some new challenges.  Today I am sharing with you the second card I made for the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers.  I love their challenges!  They take humor to a new level in card making.  It's so fun to try and come up with snarky cards.  This challenge is called SOSS #126:  "B is for Books".  You can go to their blog HERE!  

For this card I used the MFT stamp set called "I (Heart) Books" for the gal with the book.  The adorable little dog is from the MFT Pure Innocence set called "Dog-gone Cute".  I stamped both images with Black Memento ink and then colored them in with Copics and CTMH Shinhan markers.  I used CTMH "Seasons Mix-Ins paper for the aqua paper and CTMH "Rustic Home" for the woodgrain paper.  Cardstock is also from CTMH.  I printed out the quote, trimmed it and mounted it on the woodgrain paper.  I added some CTMH black dots for a little accent.  The card pattern I used is from the CTMH "Make It From Your Heart"  Vol. 2  pattern #22.  And there you go.  Done!  Thanks for stopping by,

SOSS #115: J is for Junk

Hi Y'all!

Today I get to try my hand at being the guest designer over at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers blog.  Because my card "Suck It Up Cupcake" was chosen as the winner card I am now the reigning Queen of the blog.  Part of my duties as Queen is to be part of the design team for the next challenge.  The challenge I get to be part of is "J is for Junk" which means you have to use recycled or upcycled on your project.  You can find the challenge HERE.

  For my card I am using an old Michigan map for my background.  Now that we no longer live there I feel safe to cut that puppy up.  

To make the card I first attached the old map and distressed the edges with Ranger Distress ink in Walnut Stain.  Let me just insert a comment here - I LOVE that ink!!!  It is the best for edging cards.  Just sayin'....  Anyway, Next I die cut the MFT Insert-It Instaframe out of white cardstock(CTMH).  I then die cut it again out of yellow (CTMH) cardstock.  I distressed all edges on both the white frame and the yellow window with the Walnut Stain.  I then stamped the greeting in Sapphire ink (CTMH) and added some Clear Star Gelly Roll pen to the "6" and "vacation" to give it a little bling.  (It is hard to capture that in the pictures.)  I also added some Blue Burlap (CTMH) to the bottom of the frame for a little texture.  I attached the frame with pop dots and the yellow insert was mounted flat to the card.  On a separate piece of white cardstock I stamped the airplane and 2 suitcases in Momento Black Tuxedo ink. I then colored them in using COPIC sketch markers.  I used C1 and C3 on the airplane.  I used E31 and E33 on the suitcases.  I then fussy cut them out and mounted to the card as shown.  The plane and the top suitcase are popped up.  It needed something else so I added some red dots from the CTMH Stargazer Dots embellishments.  

And there you have it.  I have so enjoyed my reign as Queen of Snarky and hope to have a repeat some time in the future.  Thanks for stopping by my humble blogdom. LOL

SOSS #113 and Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #272: Suck it up Cupcake!

Hey!

Yes, it has been a LONG time since I posted on my blog.  The past year has been filled with many changes for my family and me.  We made a BIG move to another state, left my job of 10 years, and had our daughter move back home with us.  All that said we are finally starting to get settled in and adjusted to our new home in NC.  I love the area we are in and definitely can handle the heat (especially after all those cold winters in MI).  So with all that being said I am ready to get back to crafting.

I made this card for a couple of blog challenges.  Challenges really help jump start my creative juices.  The first challenge that I am entering are the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers #113: Over the Hill which can be found HERE.   I love to make snarky birthday cards so this one appealed to me right away.  Next I needed some design help so I decided to use the sketch from Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge blog.  This is from sketch challenge #272 which can be linked up HERE.  This is what the sketch looks like.

I made this card using the bunny stamp from Taylored Expressions Party Grumplings set.  I just love his expression!  I stamped him with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then colored him with my Copic markers (C0 Cool Gray, R00 Pinkish White, R20 Blush, R08 Vermilion) with an added touch of bling on the cupcake with Wink of Stella clear. I popped this piece up with some dimensional adhesive dots.  I used paper from the CTMH Central Park collection plus CTMH Bashful and White Daisy cardstock following the sketch.  I stamped the greeting from the same TE Party Grumplings stamp set with CTMH black ink.  Lastly, I added some matching dots from CTMH Stargazer Dots accessories.

Happy 1st Birthday - Sketch-N-Scrap Card Sketch #101

Good Afternoon to you all!  

I can't believe it's been this long since I've blogged.  Time just flies.  

I finally stole some time away in my stamp room today.  I have a deadline for making my great-niece a 1st birthday card.  She turns one on July 14.  I need to wrap her gifts and then mail them with this card to get to TN by July 14.  

I decided that I needed some motivation so I looked through some sketch challenges coming up.  I knew that I would use the CTMH stamp/die set called "Sweet Birthday" so I looked for a sketch that would work with the cupcake image.  I decided that the sketch for the Sketch-N-Scrap Challenge blog was perfect for it.  I am following their Card Sketch #101.

This is what it looks like.

I pretty much stuck to the sketch.  I used all CTMH products unless otherwise noted.  The designer paper is from the Little Dreamer Collection plus Lagoon cardstock for the die cut sentiment.  The stamp/die set used is mentioned above called "Sweet Birthday".  I stamped with black Momento ink and colored with ShinHan markers(BG61, B68, P282, and YR24) and Copic markers(R32 and Y11).  The sentiment "happy birthday" dies are from Little B and the "number 1" die is from Sizzix.  I added some Wink of Stella clear shimmer pen to the cupcake top and the candle flame.  It is hard to see in my picture - sorry.  Lastly, I added 3 sequins for a bit of fun.  And there you have it!  I sure hope she has a wonderful birthday.  Thanks for stopping by!

Muse Challenge #216: Happy birthday CAS style

Hello!  It's me again.  I always seem to do things in streaks.  I am on a roll today with card making.  I used my phone again for the photo so far it's okay, but I like the camera features better.  Hopefully I will figure out how to get my camera working again.  For this card I used the Muse Challenge #216 for my inspiration.  Here is the "muse" card: 

    

I changed it up a bit by using Colonial White cardstock from CTMH and also used a stamp that would include the greeting within the image.  I also used a different color scheme for my flowers.

To make this card I used a Colonial White card and cardstock.  I die cut a rectangle using Spellbinders Rectangle Nestibilities die.  I stamped the stamps from CTMH set called "A Bunch of Love" in black Momento ink onto the die cut rectangle.  I used CTMH Shinhan markers to color the image.  I popped the rectangle up using dimensional adhesive from Stampin' Up.  And that is it.  I great CAS style card.  These are so easy to whip up for any kind of card from birthday to sympathy.  Thanks for stopping by!

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #212 and BTF Weekly Challenge #46A/B: Little Dreamer

It's been awhile since I have posted.  I have had a crazy spring this year that has been crazy busy.  I also had some computer issues and hopefully they have been resolved.  I couldn't upload pics from my camera and couldn't post my cards.  UGH!  I am now resorting to trying it with my phone.  No edit program available, but at least I have pictures!

My card today is inspired by the sketch over at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge blog.  

Here is the sketch:    You can find the blog HERE.  I also knew that I wanted to use the new "Little Dreamer" Collection from CTMH.  Hence, I am also entering this card in the Between the Folds Weekly Challenge blog for their Challenge #46 A and B which is to use "Little Dreamer" collection from CTMH.    You can access that blog HERE.  

My card follows the sketch pretty closely.  I needed a retirement card so I used the "You'll be missed" stamp and die from the CTMH set called No Worries Cardmaking set with matching dies.  I also used the flower stamp and die from the Little Dreamer - scrapbooking set.  All my papers are from CTMH Little Dreamer collection.  I used glacier cardstock for the greeting piece.  The flowers were stamped with CTMH Thistle and Blossom inks.  (BTW - I love the new magnetic stamp pads!!!)  The greeting was stamped with CTMH Lagoon ink.  I popped the greeting and 2 flowers with dimensional adhesive.  I added some CTMH Glitter Gems to the centers of each flower and also some clear ones for added interest.  And there you have it.  I love this sketch and will use it again with scraps from other projects.  It's a good way to use up all those 1/2 inch zip strips and/or trim pieces you have laying around.

Happy Easter Card: Heart 2 Heart "Dreamin' Big", BTF #42A, and CWS #12

Happy Spring!  Finally Spring has arrived even though the cold weather hasn't left us yet here in Michigan.  At least now the cooler weather comes and goes quickly.  I am SO ready for sunshine and warmer temps.  Anyway, tonight I needed some stamping therapy so I looked at some of the challenge blogs for inspiration.  I knew I would use the "Dreamin' Big" paper collection from CTMH so I am entering 2 challenges that have to do with that paper.  Heart 2 Heart Challenges "Time to Dream - Dreamin' Big"  is to use the Dreamin' Big paper or theme.  I used that paper so I am in.  You can find that challenge here.   

I also am entering the Between the Folds Challenge #42A which is to use the "Dreamin' Big" paper collection from CTMH.  That link is found here.  

And last, but not least, I am entering the CWS(Creative With Stamps) Challenge #12 which is "Easter".  You can find that challenge here.  

As for my card, I decided I wanted to make the card base out of kraft cardstock.  I then stamped the flower border with Desert Sand ink (CTMH).  I then stamped the grass in Juniper ink (CTMH).  Both the flower border and the grass are from the CTMH stamp set called "Nobunny Like You".  I then used my CTMH watercolor pencils to color in the flowers.  Next I stamped the bunny on Kraft cardstock and fussy cut her out.  I colored her with the watercolor pencils.  I then stamped the bunny again on patterned paper from the "Dreamin' Big" paper from CTMH.  I fussy cut the dress only and attached it onto the kraft bunny.  I added a little bow on her using ribbon from my stash.  Next, I die cut the heart out of the front of the card using the CTMH thin cuts Basic Hearts - largest heart.  I then hand drew a stitch line around the heart using the tan marker from AC Stamp Markers Pastel pack.  I cut a piece of pattern paper from same collection and glued it above the flowers.  I then used a frame stamp from the CTMH stamp set called "Holiday Tags" and stamped it onto a piece that I cut to match using my Cricut and Artiste cartridge from CTMH.  I used Goldrush ink to stamp the frame and Desert Sand to stamp the greeting which is from the CTMH set called "Just to Say".  I popped the frame up on top of the patterned paper used dimensional foam adhesive.  Now for the inside of the card.  I cut a piece of paper from same collection and popped the bunny up on it.  I then glued that piece to the card so that the bunny would show up through the heart when the card was closed.  I then stamped the inside greeting with Desert Sand (stamp set "Nobunny Like You" CTMH).  And that is it.  It took a little bit of work, but was fun to make.  My camera reflected the colored pencil on the first picture so the bunny's cheeks really showed up well.

Hello Lovely Card: Atlantic Hearts Challenge #201 and Between the Folds Challenge #41A

Hi.  It's me again.  I am on a roll today.  I love joining in on challenge blogs and this card was inspired by two of them.  I followed the sketch from the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #201.  You can find it here.

And I also have a bunch of Complements left over from my CTMH "Hello Lovely" workshop kit.  I used those on this card for the "Between the Folds Weekly Challenge" 41A which is to use Complements on a project.  That challenge can be found here.

As for the card details, I used the "Hello Lovely" paper and complements collection from CTMH.  The banner is from the "Hello Lovely" Cardmaking bundle.  I stamped it in Fern (CTMH) and then die cut it with my Cuttlebug.  I then stamped the verse from the "Say It All" stamp set (CTMH) in Sorbet ink (CTMH).  I popped up the Complement floral images and the banner with dimensional adhesive.  I added some sparkle to the flowers with my Clear Shimmer Brush (CTMH) and then lastly added some gold glitter dots to the sentiment piece (CTMH).  And that's it.

Happy Birthday Card for Multiple Challenges

Good morning!

It is a gloriously sunny day here in Michigan.  Too bad that looks can be deceiving!  It is still terribly cold.  Brrrr!  Anyway, I needed to get a card made for my sister's birthday coming up.  We have fun sending each other snarky cards so I was so excited when I found this new stamp set with matching dies by Taylored Expressions.  I thought it was perfect for a March birthday since she lives in TX and it's already warming up there.  I used several blog challenges for inspiration.  First I knew I wanted to use the sketch from the Try Stampin' (or not) on Tuesday Challenge #311.  Here is the sketch:

As for the details of the card, I pretty much stayed true to the sketch.  I used papers from the Dreamin' Big collection from CTMH.  I matted with Slate cardstock from CTMH.  The adorable little grumpy bunny is from the new stamp set called Spring Grumblings from Taylored Expressions.  I love that there are matching dies!  The greeting on the outside is from the CTMH stamp set called Birthday Wish.  The sequins are from the Coral Reef Sequins pack also from CTMH.  For the inside I cut matching paper with mats.  The snarky greeting is from the same Taylored Expressions stamp set mentioned above.  The "happy birthday" stamp is from the CTMH set called Holiday Tags.  The bunny image was stamped with Black Momento ink and colored with alcohol markers (CTMH and Copic).  The greetings were stamped with black CTMH ink.  And there you have it.

Thinking of You: BTF #40A/B, Heart 2 Heart "Hello Lovely", and Happy Little Stampers Anything Goes with Dies Challenges.

Hi again.  I am here now with my second card for the day.  This one I used several challenges for inspiration.  First, I knew I would be using the "Hello Lovely" paper collection from CTMH and two of the challenges are to use this collection.  One is Between The Folds (BTF) #40 A/B and it's is found here.  

The other challenge is the Heart 2 Heart Challenge for February to use "Hello Lovely" and it's found here.  

The third challenge I am entering is the Happy Little Stampers "Anything Goes with Dies" challenge for February.  You can find the challenge here.  

So on with the card.  I started with a white A2 card base.  I then cut a large piece of patterned paper from the "Hello Lovely" collection from CTMH at 4" x 5 1/4".  I then cut a piece of white daisy cardstock at 3 3/4" x 4" and I stamped the floral image from the CTMH stamp and die set called "Hello Lovely Cardmaking Bundle" with Versamark ink.  I then used gold embossing powder(CTMH) and heat embossed the image.  I then colored the flowers with colored pencils from Prima and CTMH.  I then covered the main flowers with glue and sprinkled CTMH Prisma Glitter on top. (Sadly, Prisma glitter has been discontinued by CTMH but I bought a bunch for my stash!)  Next, I got my piece of patterned paper that I cut earlier and I die cut the floral image from it.  I am just using the negative piece for this card.  Before attaching the paper to the card I wrapped some Blush Shimmer ribbon (CTMH) around the edges and attached on the back with my tape runner.  I then attached my colored floral piece to the top of my card.  I then lined up the hole left from die cutting the patterned paper over the floral stamped piece.  I used pop dots to add the patterned paper so that there is more visual interest.  I next stamped a banner from the same stamp/die set with Versamark and then gold embossed it same as the floral image.  I stamped the greeting with second generation Sorbet ink (CTMH).  I centered this banner on top of the ribbon and attached with glue tape.  Lastly, I added some rose gold sequins from CTMH.  And there you have it.

Happy Birth Day Card: Addicted to CAS #105 and Crazy 4 Challenges #374

Good evening, friends.  It's been a busy weekend for me, but I found some time to work on getting some cards done and posted.  For this card I chose a few challenges that would work in making a masculine card.  I am always needing more guy cards and this one will be easy to duplicate in the future.  I used the Addicted to CAS challenge #105 as inspiration since it is to use "wood".  The challenge can be found here.  I also used the Crazy 4 Challenges #374 which is to use your sentiment as a focal point.  The link to that challenge is here.  

To make this card, I started with a kraft cardstock card.  I needed a good layout for the card so I chose a sketch from the CTMH Make It From Your Heart Volume 2 page 45 pattern 25.  I love these books because they give you the measurements for each piece.  No guess work involved which cuts a lot of time.  I have all their how to books that deal with cards.  For paper I cut pieces from the "Hello Lovely" and "Rustic Home Fundamentals" collections from CTMH.  The greeting is stamped in Black dye ink from CTMH.  I edged all the pieces with Ranger Distress Walnut Stain ink using my Ranger distress tool.  The greeting piece is popped up with pop dots.  It needed a little something else so I attached some black epoxy bubbles from CTMH as shown.  And that's it.  A nice CAS style masculine card for my stash.

Freshly Made Sketch #274: Congrats!

Yep.  It's me again!  Fourth time's a charm.  I knew I wanted to use the sketch from the "Freshly Made Sketch" Challenge #274.  It is nice and simple.  You can find the sketch here.

I kept my interpretation of the sketch very clean and simple.  I started with a Colonial White card base from CTMH.  I then cut a rectangle out of gold mirror card I found in my stash.  I then cut the gold dot piece from the pocket page paper in my "Hello Lovely" collection from CTMH.  I then die cut the background for "Congrats" from more gold mirror paper.  I die cut the word "congrats" from Colonial White cardstock (CTMH).  The congrats dies are from Sizzix.  I just mounted the greeting with glue directly to the gold dot paper.  I added some Gold Shimmer Trim (CTMH) cut into banners

underneath the rectangle before mounting the whole rectangle piece directly to the card.  And there you have it.  I tried to take several pictures from different angles, but the mirror card reflects the flash no matter how I take the picture.  It is dark outside so no daylight to help with that either.  Oh, well.  What can you do?  Anyway, thanks for stopping by.

Muse Challenge #202: Hello

Good evening, Friends!

Wonders never cease.  I actually got a third card made tonight.  I love card making challenges since they get my creative thought process moving.  This card was inspired by the Muse Challenge #202 which is found here.  

I used a stitched rectangle for MFT for the base of the stamping piece.  I then stamped randomly with feathers from the CTMH stamp set called "Feathers"(dah!)  I used Sorbet, Pear, and Peacock inks from CTMH.  I also added some scribble circles from the CTMH stamp set called "Shower Flowers" with Honey ink (CTMH).  I then die cut "Hello" (CTMH) several times form dark blue cardstock and also from the stamped panel.  I then layered them back in place so that they stacked up to add dimension.  And that is it.  Actually easier than I thought it would be.  I even decided I didn't like my first color combo so I flipped my rectangle over and tried again.  There are no mistakes in stamping!  LOL

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #198 and BTF Challenge #39 A/B: Thinking of You

Hi,

It's me again!  I love when I get in a groove and get several cards done.  Woo Hoo!  

For this card I followed the sketch from the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #198.  The link is found here.

I also want to enter this card in the Between The Folds Challenge #39 A/B.  I am loving this new Blush Shimmer Ribbon I got from CTMH.  So I get to enter another card in this challenge since we are to add ribbon to a project.  That challenge is found here.

For this card I used my new "Hello Lovely" CTMH paper collection again.  It is just so gorgeous!  Besides the patterned paper from the collection, I used New England Ivy cardstock to die cut the largest circle and White Daisy cardstock for the smaller one(Spellbinders).  Both cardstocks are from CTMH.  I stamped the greeting with Sorbet ink (CTMH).  The greeting is from the CTMH set called "Happy to be Friends."   I added the beautiful Blush Shimmer Ribbon (CTMH) at the bottom.  I then added some Gold Glitter Gems (CTMH) under the greeting to add some visual interest.
